Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Ellchat when you create an account or use the service.
Effective and last updated: 23 August 20261. Eligibility and agreement
You must be at least 14 and legally permitted to use Ellchat. By registering, you confirm your date of birth is accurate and accept these Terms, the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. If you cannot agree, do not create or use an account.
2. Your account
Keep your password, authenticator codes and backup codes secret. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless you promptly report suspected compromise. Do not sell, transfer, automate or share access to an account.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of content you create. You give Ellchat a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce and display it only as needed to operate, secure and moderate the service. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for limited backups, legal preservation and safety records.
4. Acceptable use
You must follow the Community Guidelines and applicable law. You must not disrupt the service, probe for vulnerabilities without written permission, bypass controls, scrape users, introduce malicious code, misuse reports or access data you are not authorised to access.
5. Servers and moderation
Server owners control their communities subject to Ellchat’s rules. Ellchat may investigate reports and take proportionate action, including content removal, feature restrictions, suspension or termination. We aim to use human review, but do not promise a particular outcome or response time.
6. Service changes and availability
Ellchat may add, change or retire features and may interrupt access for maintenance, safety or legal reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Where practical, important changes will be announced.
7. No paid service
Ellchat currently does not sell subscriptions, advertisements or paid digital goods. Do not send payment details through Ellchat. If this changes, separate payment terms will be shown before purchase.
8. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights. Subject to that, Ellchat is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, content posted by users, or losses caused by events outside reasonable control.
9. Ending use
You may stop using Ellchat and request account deletion through a Support or Privacy ticket. Ellchat may restrict or close an account for serious or repeated breaches, risk to users, legal requirements or security. Where appropriate, we will explain the decision and provide an appeal route.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law applicable in the part of the United Kingdom where the operator is established, without removing mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Courts with lawful jurisdiction may hear disputes.
11. Contact
Use an in-app Legal or Support ticket. Safety reports may also be submitted at reports.elliotj.xyz.
