Community Guidelines

1. Respect other people

Do not harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, humiliate or repeatedly contact someone who has asked you to stop. Threats, sexual harassment, targeted abuse and encouraging others to attack someone are prohibited.

2. No hateful conduct

Do not attack, degrade or exclude people because of protected or personal characteristics, including race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or serious illness. Slurs and dehumanising stereotypes are not allowed.

3. Protect children and vulnerable people

Never sexualise a minor, solicit sexual material from a minor, groom or exploit a child, or share child sexual abuse material. Do not encourage self-harm, suicide, dangerous challenges or eating-disorder behaviour. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

4. No illegal, violent or extremist activity

Do not use Ellchat to plan, promote or facilitate terrorism, violent extremism, trafficking, fraud, hacking, weapon sales or other criminal activity. Graphic violence, credible threats and praise for terrorist acts may be removed and escalated where legally required.

5. Respect privacy and identity

Do not reveal, trade or threaten to reveal someone’s private information. Do not impersonate another person, evade enforcement, compromise accounts, distribute malware or attempt to obtain passwords, login tokens or backup codes.

6. Keep content appropriate

Ellchat does not permit chat image or file uploads. Text must not contain pornography, sexual services, scams, spam, malicious links or instructions intended to cause harm. Profile and server icons must also follow these rules.

7. Honest communities

Do not manipulate invitations, reactions, reports or moderation systems. Server owners and moderators must use their powers fairly, document serious actions, and must not encourage conduct that breaches these Guidelines.

8. Reporting and enforcement

Use the in-app Safety ticket. Human reviewers may remove content, restrict features, issue warnings, time out, remove or ban accounts, preserve relevant evidence, and contact authorities where required. The response depends on context, severity, history and risk. Knowingly false or abusive reports may themselves lead to action.

9. Appeals

You may submit a Ban Appeal ticket with the decision, relevant context and why you believe it should change. Appeals are reviewed by someone able to reconsider the original decision where practicable. An appeal does not guarantee reversal.

10. Changes

We may update these rules as Ellchat changes or legal and safety duties develop. Material updates will be shown in-app. Continued use after an update means the new rules apply from their effective date.
